What to do with Wood Veneer on Scrapbook Pages - Scrapbooking Tutorial #38

Hi Crafters!

Today i share with you some of my ideas on how to use Wood Veneer on a Scrapbook Page.

I started off by cutting down the stripy paper to 8.5x11 size and trimming off edges of my white cardstock to create stripy border around it.

I then machine stitched (straight stitch) around the border, giving half an inch space from the edge so that i could bend the sides of the paper and distress them. - This creates dimension, shadow and texture on the page. Your layers will look more interesting with this technique.

Some more stitching over the bottom strip layers of paper and fabric tape was added for balance and to add the extra element to the paper.

Layering stickers is a good way to create a cluster, combine elements and colours from the page and incorporate them in a visual triangle around your focal element (eg photo)

Here i have used a combination of repeating wood veneer, star shapes and colours in sequins to achieve visual triangle in my embellishment clusters.

Cloud and Raid wood veneer were the perfect choice for this page of my nephew Leo playing in a puddle outside. Sometimes it is great to included "themed" embellishments to go with the page and other times there is no need to worry that something doesn't go with the "theme", as long as it fits and you like it, its all good :)

Here is a video Process - enjoy!:
