March Challenge ~ Stuck Sketches ~ "Meow" 12x12 Layout

Hi All!!

Happy Easter and hope you had a wonderful Scrappy Long Weekend.

i have a layout here today i have completed for a challenge over on Stuck Sketches. Here is a link to a sketch challenge

and here is the sketch that i have been working with:

I was really inspired by the circle elements and the tag in the sketch. Although i only had 1 photo, i have taken 2 tags and layered them on either side of photo to achieve a similar look.

I have added some thread with a peg in the right bottom corner of the photo strip and some circle element at the top left. I have torn the bottom edge of the photo strip instead of using a scallop - i just liked the casual look that it added added and instead of using a middle pattern paper piece like the sketch called for, i decided to make my own background! I used Gelatos and the "packaging technique" to add colour to the background and then did some stamping with various shapes and black Stazon ink.

I have also done some hand-stitching on the tags to add a bit of colour to them and some "different" texture.

Hope you like it!

Have a nice scrappy day!

12x12 Scrapbook Layout Tutorial "Teddy Love"

Hi Crafty People!

I have a new layout to share with you today. This was created for Hip Kit Club Design Team Audition.

Here i am working with an old kit i have had in my stash for a very long time.

First i have taken a Red pattern paper for background and layered white and grey A4 size cardstock in the centre to tone down the busy background a bit

I have created some paper layers behind my photo and positioned the photo in the left third of the page to draw the eye.

I have punched out some hears from blue/ aqua pattern papers from 6x6 paper pad with my EK success "Classic Heart" punch and sewn with my sewing machine through the centre of them

Have added some embellishments and white thread, which i have attached with white glue that dries clear using my precision tip bottle for precise application (and less mess!)

Added some enamel dots in the centre of hearts for extra dimension on the page and lifted off the sides of the hearts to raise them up a bit

Then i have done some zig-zag machine stitching below the photo for more "texture" on the page

Using a template from Amy Tan, i have poked holes and hand-stitched "Love" on the page and added letter stickers to complete my title "Teddy Love"

If you have any questions about products or techniques i have used on the page, leave me a comment.

Project Life Week 32 2015 Process Video ~ Hip Kit Club audition

Hi All

i have another YouTube video up on my channel today. I have created this double Project Life layout for Hip Kit Club Design Team call.

Pages came together reasonably quick, the only time it took was the stamping and that wasn't long at all ! It is great working with kits where all embellishments and papers come beautifully coordinated so all you have to do is choose what you want to use first!

I have used an old kit i had in my stash - there was some pink Prima Chalk ink that matched the papers perfectly and i have used it in a few places to add to the background. Stamping on photos is all done in black in as it is sleek surface and stazon is a good option to prevent from smudging and waiting a long time to dry.

Hope you enjoy the video and if you have any questions, leave me a  comment.

Happy Crafting

Project Life Week 24 2015 Process ~Start to Finish

Hi Crafty People! I have another Project Life process video up on my channel using a mini Project Life kit by Heidi Swapp "Sparkle"

This kit is full of glittery papers and is a lot of fun to work with. The "ephemera" pieces that come with the kit are a little bit challenging to work with as they are quite large, however they make perfect embellishments for filler cards.

Hope you enjoy the video and if you have any questions, ask away :)

Up Up and Away 12x12 Layout Process

Hi Crafters!

i have a new video up on my channel showing a Process of how i created a 12x12 Scrapbook layout using up scraps from 2 old kits - Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance.

This whole layout started off with a Chipboard shape of a Hot Air Balloon which i really wanted to use and didn't want to put away to get lost in my stash - so i have remembered i had some photos of my sister Hot Air Ballooning just a few weeks prior and used the photos from the event on the layout.

The colours are very soft on this page and i think it gives it a more "airy" look.

Hope you enjoy the video and if you have any questions, let me know!
